By Raymond Enoch

The Students from Crest International Schools, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, recently visited the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja on an educational excursion aimed at deepening their understanding of regional cooperation and integration.

The Grade 5 students, accompanied by their teachers, Mrs. Benssie and Mr. Stephen, were warmly welcomed at the ECOWAS Training Center by Mrs. Kete Gills-Harry, Principal Program Officer for Career Management and Training. She delivered an engaging presentation on ECOWAS’ history, achievements, and contributions to regional integration, peace, and development in West Africa.

The interactive session provided valuable insights into ECOWAS’ role in fostering unity and cooperation among member states to further enrich their understanding. The students visited the ECOWAS Library, where they received books detailing the organization’s accomplishments, policies, and treaties.

As part of their tour, the students explored the Commission’s main building, including the iconic main conference hall, where crucial regional decisions are made. The visit served as a practical learning experience, complementing their classroom studies on regional organizations and global cooperation.

Crest International Schools expressed gratitude to the ECOWAS Commission for their hospitality and commitment to educating the next generation about the significance of regional unity and collaboration.
