Burial Programme Released for HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Uchendu Ndukwe, Opike II

The family of HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Athanasius Uchendu Ndukwe, Opike II, along with the Opi Autonomous Community in Amasiri, Afikpo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, has formally announced the burial programme for the late traditional ruler, who passed away on March 27, 2024, at the age of 70.
The funeral rites will commence with a wake-keeping event on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Ogo Ihie, Ezi-umeke, Amasiri, Afikpo LGA, starting at 5:00 p.m. The final funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Amasiri Secondary School, Amasiri, Afikpo. The final thanksgiving service is scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Catholic Church, Amasiri.
A Distinguished Life of Service and Leadership
HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Uchendu Ndukwe led an accomplished life marked by dedication to both his professional and traditional responsibilities. A retired military personnel, he obtained his education at Yaba College of Technology and later became a proficient business manager and petroleum surveyor.
Following his voluntary retirement from the Nigerian Army, he ventured into the corporate world, where he built a thriving career in the oil services sector, operating in Lagos and Warri before retiring in 2014 at the age of 60.
His commitment to his people led him back home to Amasiri, where his leadership qualities were soon recognized. On November 20, 2021, he was elected as the Eze of Opi Autonomous Community in a transparent and credible selection process. His leadership was later affirmed by the Executive Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area and the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. Until his passing, he served his community with unwavering dedication and dignity.
A Legacy of Love and Commitment
HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Uchendu Ndukwe is survived by his aged mother, his devoted wife, Rev. Patricia Ndukwe, and his three children: Ndukwe Jr., Onyinyechi, and Ejike. He also leaves behind siblings, cousins, an extended family, friends, and associates who continue to honor his legacy.
The people of Amasiri and beyond will remember him as a pillar of wisdom, leadership, and service. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
