In a bold commitment to his constituents, Honourable Ifeoluwa Ehindero, the federal lawmaker representing Akoko North/West in the National Assembly, has assured the people of a transformative 2025 filled with strategic interventions, youth empowerment, and infrastructural advancements.

Speaking at a media parley with members of the Association of Ondo Media Practitioners (AOMP) to mark his first year in office, Ehindero reflected on his journey and outlined ambitious plans for the coming year.

“We are looking at a year of greater empowerment,” Ehindero declared, emphasizing his focus on reducing youth unemployment by providing financial support for skilled individuals and training for the unskilled. “Skill acquisition will be a major priority for 2025, along with employment opportunities.”

Infrastructure development remains a key agenda, with planned road constructions, medical facility upgrades, and comprehensive medical outreach programs. Additionally, water projects have been identified as a critical area for intervention, ensuring improved access to clean water across the constituency.

Ehindero also highlighted ongoing security efforts in Akoko North/West, revealing that two patrol vans have been deployed to crime-prone areas, with funding provided for fuel and maintenance. “With 12 officers already on duty in these flashpoints, we have significantly reduced crime rates in our constituency,” he noted.

On the legislative front, Ehindero commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing zonal intervention projects in the 2025 budget, facilitating the execution of grassroots-focused capital projects such as road and classroom constructions.

As the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Correctional Institutions and the newly appointed Chairman of the Committee on Student Loans, Scholarships, Higher Education Financing, and NELFUND, Ehindero has played a key role in national development. He revealed that through committee interventions, over 100 correctional facilities across Nigeria have been decongested, significantly improving conditions in the penal system.

“Our engagement with the Ministry of Justice and the Nigerian Correctional Service led to strategic interventions that facilitated the release of over a hundred inmates across Nigeria,” he stated.

As the Grand Patron of AOMP, Ehindero emphasized the importance of collaboration among Ondo State lawmakers, stating that strategic engagements have yielded significant results, particularly in road construction.

“We have a caucus that meets regularly, especially during budget periods, to strategize on facilitating jobs and infrastructure projects for our people. Through our interventions, multiple road projects are set to commence across Ondo State,” he said confidently.

Ehindero’s emergence in the National Assembly followed the appointment of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo as Minister of Interior, leaving a representation vacuum in Akoko North/West. His landslide victory in the February 3, 2024, bye-election, where he secured 35,504 votes against his closest rival’s 15,328, underscored his overwhelming support among constituents.

As 2025 approaches, Honourable Ifeoluwa Ehindero stands at the forefront of change, promising a year of impactful governance, infrastructural growth, and enhanced security for the people of Akoko North/West.
