In a stirring address at a high-leve stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to put aside differences and rally behind a renewed commitment to grassroots mobilization.
Speaking with party stalwarts and emerging voices, Dr. Mahmoud said that party unity and active participation from youths and women are essential for the party’s continued success.
“The remarkable strides we have witnessed in infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment across the FCT are clear evidence of what we can achieve when we work together,” the minister stated.
Praising the leadership at all levels—from national headquarters to local ward offices—she credited the sustained success of the APC, particularly under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Highlighting the challenges that lie ahead, Dr. Mahmoud stressed that personal interests must give way to collective progress. “Our unity remains our greatest strength. By resolving internal disputes through dialogue and respect for our party’s supremacy, we pave the way for even greater achievements,” she declared.
Her remarks resonated deeply with party members, many of whom see this call as a timely reminder to reinvigorate local networks and enhance democratic practices within the party.
Adding to the chorus of support, FCT Chairman of the APC, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, noted that the meeting served as a vital platform to assess progress, review strategies, and strengthen internal democracy. “The dedication of every member has solidified our position as the ruling party and the preferred choice of the people. Our combined efforts at the national, state, local government, and ward levels are what drive our success,” he affirmed.
As the APC braces for future electoral challenges and the responsibilities of governance, leaders like Dr. Mahmoud are steering the party toward a model of inclusivity and transparency. By encouraging the active involvement of young people and women, the minister is not only nurturing the next generation of leaders but also reinforcing the party’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
With a clear vision for a more united and robust APC, the message from Abuja is unmistakable: Only through collective resolve and grassroots empowerment can the party continue to build a stronger, more prosperous nation.
