NIGERIA FIRST LADY SEN. REMI TINUBU EMPOWERS 1000 WOMEN IN NASARAWA STATE.

Nigeria First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has empowered 1000 Women in Nasarawa State under the renewed hope Initiative program, RHI.


Speaking at the event held at the banquet hall of the government house in Lafia today, the first lady who was represented by the wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, Her Excellency, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi A. Sule, explained that this phase of the program is meant for the women at the grassroots selected from all the thirteen local government areas of Nassarawa State.

In her welcome address, Wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, represented at the event by the wife of the deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Mrs Tosin Akabe expressed gratitude to the Nigerian first lady for her kind gesture towards improving the livelihood of Nigerians especially the vulnerable women.
She called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the grant to better their lives.

Nasarawa State commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aisha Rufa’i Ibrahim, explained that the total sum for this phase of the empowerment is fifty million naira with each of the one thousand beneficiaries drawn from across all the LGAs is given the sum of Fifty thousand naira as grant.

Other dignitaries at the event which includes Commissioners, wives of Commissioners, Head of Civil service of Nasarawa State, wives of LGA Chairmen in their goodwill messages thanked the wife of the president and governor for initiating such a program which reaches the vulnerable members of the society.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with Ziti News expressed delight over the gesture, promised to use the money efficiently.

Highlights of the event was the presentation of Fifty thousand naira to each of the One thousand beneficiaries drawn from all the thirteen local government areas of Nasarawa State.
