The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is well-positioned to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election, arguing that the administration’s economic reforms are already producing measurable results and earning the confidence of both local and international institutions.
In a statement issued by Ikharo Attah, Special Adviser (Media and Communications), said that the Minister believes the President’s performance and the impact of the ongoing reforms will provide the strongest basis for seeking a fresh mandate from Nigerians.
According to Dr. Alausa, the Tinubu administration has delivered on its commitment to implement bold economic reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening fiscal discipline and laying a sustainable foundation for long-term national development.
He noted that independent assessments by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, Bloomberg and Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics indicate that Nigeria’s macroeconomic outlook is improving, with inflation gradually easing, economic activities expanding and key economic indicators recording steady progress.
The Minister maintained that the reforms are not intended to achieve short-term political gains but to build a resilient economy capable of delivering prosperity for future generations.
“The President is focused on building a stronger Nigeria for generations to come. These reforms are not designed for short-term gains but to create lasting prosperity,” Alausa said.
He added that the administration remains committed to implementing policies that promote inclusive growth, increase productivity, improve citizens’ welfare and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Expressing confidence in the government’s direction, Dr. Alausa said Nigerians would continue to witness the positive impact of the reforms, insisting that President Tinubu’s record in office would remain the defining factor in the 2027 presidential election.
