Ambassador Yekpe Honoured for Service and Diplomacy as She Bids Farewell to ECOWAS President Dr Omar Alieu Touray.

In a moment marked by gratitude and diplomacy, H.E. Paulette ADJOVI YEKPE, Ambassador of Benin to Nigeria and Permanent Representative to ECOWAS, paid a farewell visit to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Omar Alieu Touray, on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the ECOWAS Commission Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.

The visit marked the end of Ambassador Yekpe’s distinguished mission in Nigeria and with ECOWAS. As the Dean of Ambassadors of ECOWAS Member States to the regional body, her departure was met with heartfelt appreciation from the Commission.
President Touray lauded Ambassador Yekpe’s unwavering commitment, noting her “exceptional human and professional qualities,” as well as her vital contributions to the work of ECOWAS. He highlighted her support for the organization’s organs and initiatives during a critical period in the region.
In her farewell remarks, Ambassador Yekpe commended ECOWAS for its steadfast dedication to regional peace, stability, and the welfare of its people. She expressed deep gratitude for the cooperation and cordiality extended to her by ECOWAS leadership and senior officials throughout her tenure.
